Katalina fairs fairly well with communicating with the animals, actually being able to communicate with them. However, she has her limits and she can only actually communicate with certain species; the feline family, the dog family, and the bird family. Every other creature, she can only understand its intentions at the moment. She is learning how to push her thoughts into the birds and the cats, but she is still only able to hold it for a couple minutes.

Personality:
Katalina is a loving girl who is very friendly and caring, putting all others needs above her own. She worries over every little thing and she is very loyal to those she loves. She is usually very respectful to those who are older than her, unless they do something to annoy her or anger her. Than, she can be very rude and spiteful. She stands up for what she believes in and will protect those who are in trouble. However, she has two flaws; her temper and her energy. Though she is a very sweet creature, she has a big temper and she can be angered by the littlest things, becoming quickly furious. Also, she tends to annoy others with her energetic personality. She can talk nonstop sometimes and other times she's all smiles and giddy joy.

History:
Katalina had a happy childhood life, living with her parents and older brother. However, this all changed when she was 5 and her brother was reaped into the games. Unfortunately, he didn't survive the games. This, of course, led her into a depression for quite sometime, her animal friends and her parents worrying over her and trying to get to be happy once more. Eventually, they were able to bring back her normal self once more. Once more, she was happy again. But again, something happened once more that would test her heart once more.
It the summer of the year she finally turned twelve years old, eligible to compete in the games. Her mother, not wanting to lose another child, went ballistic and tried kill her only remaining child so as not to lose another child to the games. Her father managed to intervene in time to stop her, accidentally killing her mother in the process. This, of course, caused him so much grief that he stopped eating and stopped doing everything. This, of course, killed himself as well.
Filled with grief from losing her parents, Katalina went to live with her grandparents, falling into depression once more. However, she was able to recover once more, this time with the help of her grandparents and animals. Though she still suffers with her sadness at times, especially when she has time to think about it at night, she keeps it hidden from those she loves, so as not to cause worry.
